Verenice & Wesley | Julieanna's Patio Cafe

Julieanna’s Patio Cafe is like a little oasis hidden in an otherwise inconspicuous corner of Yuma. It’s known for great food, whimsical artwork, and—of course—the glorious birds that grace the patio. It is quite a beautiful venue with its classic charm and quirky vibe.

Verenice and Wesley tied the knot there in a gorgeous, bilingual ceremony last fall among family and friends. The couple are kind, dedicated to each other and living a life of service, and have quick and enthusiastic smiles.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day. Enjoy!

Moody | Wedding | From the Farm

You’ve got to love the charm of a farm wedding. In true Yuman fashion, on a gorgeous December evening full of romance, friends and family, Megan and Robbie tied the knot at From the Farm. The venue was all rustic charm and they put their own personal touches on it with jars of Jolly Ranchers and a neat twist on the traditional guest book. Their families and friends are important to them, and it’s easy to see the devotion is mutual!

I first met Courtney … gosh … years ago? She hired me for their wedding, warning me that she and her fiance were “awkward.” The wedding was rescheduled. Our kids shared a kindergarten class. They contemplated eloping to the Garden of the Gods and bringing me with them. Finally, this October, after years of loving each other and building a family together, they finally tied the knot.

"Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today. Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam within a dweam. And wove, twue wove, wiww fowwow you fowevah and evah… So tweasuwe youw wove..."

Quotes from their favorite movies in the ceremony ... Harry Potter wands and light saber Otter Pop cozies for favors ... a bridal party light saber fight ... board game themed reception ... the nicest bride and groom IN THE WORLD ... and a bridal party that was and energetic and unabashedly fun and were excited to see their dresses matched the bathroom stalls ...

This was by far one of the funnest (most fun? more funner?) and definitely the most unique wedding I've ever been to.

I am so honored to have been a part of it, and I'm glad you had the good sense to hire someone who loves Doctor Who as much as you do. Much love to you both.
